Design a Room that Makes People Ask:
"DID YOU HIRE A DESIGNER?"

You know you have fabulous taste.

You spent a small fortune redecorating your room.

You filled it with things you actually genuinely loved.

And still the room looks wrong...

Not terrible.
Just unfinished...
Disconnected...
Not quite what you pictured.

The kind of room that makes you straighten a cushion every time you walk past because you can feel something is off, but you just can't figure out what it is.

So you hesitate over every new decision. You save more pictures. You ask more people. You buy one more thing and hope this will be what finally pulls it all together.

It’s driving you mad!

And you wonder:

Why can’t I get this right?

Here’s why.

You were handed endless shops, trends, paint colors and Pinterest pictures, then left to turn hundreds of separate decisions into one beautiful room.

Of course it feels hard.

The problem is not your taste. You’ve just been trying to decorate your way out of a design problem.

And that, my lovely, is exactly what we’re going to change.

If you want a clear path from “Why doesn’t this room feel right?” to a room that works, feels finished and looks like it could only belong to you, then you’re in the right place.

I wrote The Designer Dream Home Method™ just for YOU.

No more flying blind.

No more hoping the next purchase fixes everything.

You’ll know what to do,
Why you’re doing it and
What comes next.

I’m not teaching you my style.
I’m teaching you an interior designer’s process.

I’m showing you how to create a home you love.
One that works for your real life,
feels completely finished and could only belong to you.

YES! SHOW ME HOW!

or when all 50 places are taken.

If every piece was a “Hell, Yes!”
why is the room making you feel like
“What the Hell?”

There’s the sofa you loved online.
The rug you bought because the sofa needed something.
The coffee table you ordered because the rug made the old one look wrong.
The lamps you chose because, at this point, you were committed.

And now every piece is… fine.

But the room?

Totally and completely...Blah.

So you do what everyone does when something isn’t working.

You keep looking.

Another night on Pinterest.
Another designer followed on Instagram.
Another sofa saved.
Another paint sample stuck to the wall where it stays for six months, quietly judging you,
telling you that you don't know what you're doing.

It's all so confusing. So overwhelming.

Here's the thing, my lovely. You don’t need another idea.

You need a way to make
the right decisions.

Interior designers don’t create fabulous rooms because we know better shops,
have an infinite budget, have a design genie at our disposal, or were born clutching paint cards.

We just ask different questions. Better questions.
We make decisions in a different order. The right order.

We think about the whole room before allowing one beautiful piece to run away with the design.
And we do a huge amount of work that nobody sees in the finished pictures.

The meticulous measurements.
The eight layouts we rejected.
Calculating the planned investment.
The pieces we loved and purposely didn’t use
because they didn’t work with the design or the scope of work.
The conversations about who lives there, what drives them mad,
where the dog sleeps and why everyone dumps their belongings on that one chair.

That invisible thinking is what makes the visible room work.
And it’s the part you never see.
So you don’t know how to copy it from a Pinterest picture.

This course will lay it all out for you and teach you how to approach your own home the way a Designer would.

You are not missing some mythical Designer Gene.
You are missing a logical Designer’s Process.

And I’m going to give it to you.

I'M READY TO STOP GUESSING

Step Into My Studio

The finished room is the only part most people see.

They don’t see the questions that came first.
The plans that didn’t work.
The measurements, calculations, edits, compromises and tiny judgment calls that quietly kept one wrong decision from turning into an avalanche of expensive mistakes.

That invisible work is the backbone of interior design.

So I took the process I’ve used on real projects for more than two decades and wrote it all down. I removed the trade-only software and jargon you don’t need, but kept the thinking, planning, order of decisions and professional checks that make the room work.

This is not a watered-down version of interior design.
It is the part that changes everything.

I’m not teaching you how to decorate a room.

I’m teaching you how
an interior designer thinks.

And how an interior designer designs.

What This Experience is Like

This is not a course where I hand you a few decorating rules, tell you which sofa to buy and send you on your way.

Or give you some mood boards and a shopping list. If that's what you're looking for, don't sign up.

I'm going to show you how to look at your home differently. How to see your home the way a Designer would.

I get bored with lectures, so I teach you through stories and real examples.
And I’ll probably say something that makes you think, “Oh God. I do that.”

I was also that insufferable kid who needed to know the why behind everything. So I explain the thinking behind the decisions, help you see what you've been missing and give you a process you can use long after this room is finished.

This is not something you learn once and use once.

It's a framework you can use for the next room,
the next home and the next version of your life.

You'll learn how to create a home that supports the way your family actually lives,
while still making it beautiful, creative and completely your own.

You'll need to slow down, think and do the work.
But you'll never be left wondering what to do next.
I'll hold your hand every step of the way.

Confused?
I’ll show you what comes next.

Overwhelmed?
We’ll bring you back to one decision at a time.

If you want quick decorating tricks or a finished room in two days,
then keep moving. I’m not the designer for you.

But if you want to learn how a designer thinks,
so you can start thinking that way yourself
and create a home that could only belong to you, come on in.

Six Waves.
Twelve weeks.
One clear method.

The Designer Dream Home Method™ takes you through the same six stages every professionally designed room moves through.

Each Wave builds on the one before it, so you’re never trying to hold the entire room in your head or wondering what on earth you should do next.

Wave One opens the moment you join. A new Wave will open every week for the first six weeks.

But that Wave release date is not a deadline.

If a Wave opens while you’re carving turkey, untangling Christmas lights or hiding from your extended family in the pantry during the holidays, it will still be waiting for you when you’re ready.

You’ll have the full 12-week Founding Member experience to work through the process, revisit decisions, use the community and keep your room moving forward. And even after that...

You don’t have to race. You just have to follow the process in order.

Each Wave builds on the one before it, so you're never juggling the entire room in your head, or wondering what you should be doing next.

I’ll show you what matters now, what can wait and when to know that you’re ready for the next step.

The minimum amount of time this course should take you is 6 weeks. A thoughtful room might take 12 weeks, and a more complicated room may take longer. That’s perfectly fine.

The goal isn’t to finish first.
The goal is to finally get it right.

The Six Waves

WAVE ONE: DISCOVER
See your room the way a designer does.

Before you try to fix the room, you need to understand why it isn’t working.

In Discover, you’ll stop looking at the room as a random collection of things you like and start seeing the whole picture. You’ll learn what matters first, what can wait and why the order of your decisions changes everything.

This is where the confusion begins to clear and the room finally starts making sense. In this foundational wave, you’ll learn to see through a Designer’s eyes and learn the difference between a room you create, and one a Designer does.

WAVE TWO: DREAM
Turn all that inspiration into one clear vision.

You know what you like. The problem is that you like a lot of things, and you have no idea how they all fit together. Or if they do fit together at all.

In Dream, you’ll stop collecting disconnected ideas and work out what you really want your room to look like, feel like and say about you. In other words, you’ll gain power over your Pinterest boards.

Instead of being pulled in a hundred beautiful directions, you’ll have one clear vision that makes every decision easier. You'll learn the question that matters most in any design journey.

WAVE THREE: DEFINE
Give the dream boundaries.

Designers work within parameters. The room's size and shape. How a family lives. What needs to stay or go. The timeline. Investment. Real life. These help shape the design.

In Define, you’ll establish the boundaries for your room before expensive decisions are made. You’ll know what the room needs to do, what you’re working with and what the complete project will need.

There’s no point designing a room that you can’t actually have in real life, or that doesn’t work for you. Here, the dream becomes a project you can actually bring to life.

WAVE FOUR: DESIGN
Now we get to play. But play with a plan.

This is where your ideas start becoming an actual room. You’ll explore more than the first furniture layout that occurred to somebody. You’ll test the flow. Play with scale. Find the room’s focal point. Choose the piece that starts the conversation and ensure everything knows its role.

We’ll bring together furniture, color, lighting, materials, pattern and texture. You’ll learn why five fabulous things can still make one very confused room, and why not everything needs to be the star.

Now the room begins talking to you. And instead of saying, “What on earth are you doing to me?” it starts saying, “Ta-da! Here I am.”

WAVE FIVE: DO
It all starts to take shape.

You know what belongs in the room. Now we find it, decide what order to buy it in and how to stop the whole project from unraveling because one fabric disappeared or the dining table seems to be coming by donkey.

You’ll source, compare, order and track. You’ll plan deliveries and installation. You’ll build the right team and learn what to do when something arrives damaged, delayed or not at all like you expected.

And you'll learn that something will go wrong. But that doesn’t mean your design has failed. It means you’re working on a real project in the real world. No spiraling. No panic. We solve it and move on.

WAVE SIX: DEEPEN
A beautiful space is transformed into YOUR home.

The furniture has arrived. The rug fits. The lamps work. But without the final layers, it can still feel like a very nice hotel.

Deepen is where a 'finished' room becomes a personal one, full of stories and infused with your journeys.

You’ll learn how to layer a room without smothering it, style it without making it feel staged and know when it needs one more thing or absolutely nothing else. You'll learn how to add, style and edit.

Your room will stop looking like it could belong to anyone and starts to feel unmistakably yours.

YES! I WANT TO DESIGN MY ROOM THIS WAY!

By the end, you won't have better taste...

You already have taste (or you wouldn’t be here!)

You’ll have something much more useful:
You'll have a way to make decisions.

You’ll know why a piece belongs in the room, not just why you like it.

You’ll know whether the layout works before the movers arrive
(And save those poor guys from moving heavy furniture four times,
so you can ‘just see what it looks like over there…’)

You’ll know what the complete room will cost
before the first three purchases swallow up the entire investment.

You’ll know when your friend’s opinion matters
and when to smile sweetly and thank her for her unsolicited opinion
(or just thank her and ignore it…)

You’ll know what the room still needs.
You’ll know how to edit.
And, miraculously, you’ll know when to stop.

Most importantly, the next time you design a room,
you won’t be back to square one, scratching your head
and breathing into a paper bag in panic.

You’ll be calm,
because you already know the process.

Imagine this...

You walk through your front door and don’t immediately see the unfinished corner,
the too-small rug and the chair you regret.

Instead you smile. Your shoulders drop. You take a deep, cleansing breath.

Your room is beautiful. It works.

Your family uses it the way you hoped they would.

The dog is asleep on the fabulous rug
because you were clever enough to choose one that could handle him.

You invite people over without having to decide which doors need to stay firmly closed.
You hand out red wine without a care, because spills can’t touch your performance fabrics - you designed for real life, baby!

Someone looks around and says,
“This is gorgeous! Who is your designer?”

You smile as you turn to them and say:

“I am.”

That is the mic drop moment I want for you.

These aren't worksheets invented to keep you busy.

I wanted to get you from Point A to Point B (your finished room) as quickly as possible, so I didn't include anything you didn't need.

They are versions of the tools the designers use at our working interior design studio, Taashki Studio, to stop relying on memory, emotion and forty-seven open browser tabs.

Every exercise exists to move you closer to a clear decision, a complete plan and a finished room.

No busywork. No vague inspiration. No leaving you to work out what happens next.

Why should you trust me with your home?

Because I have done this over and over and over.

I’ve designed tiny Hong Kong apartments where every inch had to earn its keep to Texas-sized homes that are enormous and everything in between - townhomes, patio homes, beach houses, 2-story and 3-story houses, renovations and new builds that began with an empty piece of land and a client saying, “Come with me to meet the builder and architect, Tash? I have no clue what I’m doing!”

I’ve worked alongside incredible architects, designers, builders, cabinetmakers, kitchen designers, craftspeople and furniture vendors, all over the world. I asked questions. I watched. I experimented. I made mistakes, learned from them and absorbed everything like a sponge because I've always needed to know why something works, not just that it looks pretty.

But I think my real education in how spaces make us feel began long before I became an interior designer.

I grew up in Hong Kong. My earliest years included Sunday brunches in beautiful hotels and travel to fabulous places. My father was (and still) the most stylish person ever, putting fabric on walls and designing custom furniture for our homes while everyone just 'moved in' to their places. Then, at 10 years old, our lives changed overnight and we spent years sharing a tiny one-bedroom while still seeing fabulous places, as I hobnobbed with my private school friends.

Years later, working in luxury travel for Abercrombie & Kent took me into some of the most incredible hotels and resorts across Asia. I felt different in each of these places, and started to pay attention. I became an observer. I noticed rooms. Started decoding what made a place feel special, welcoming, intimidating, peaceful or magical. The arrival. The scent. The light. The way a room could make you smile and relax before you had taken a few steps. The best hotels don’t just decorate rooms. They design every moment of your experience and how you feel inside them.

That idea has shaped every home I have designed since 2000 from Hong Kong to Houston. I don’t just want a room to look beautiful. I want it to support the life happening inside it, tell a story and change the way people feel when they walk through the door.

Would you let 662 strangers walk through your home?

I did.

When our own home was selected for the Houston Modern Home Tour, 662 people came through our doors. They sat on our sofas, gathered around the kitchen island, used the powder room, asked about the objects we had collected on our travels and stayed longer than typical.

One older couple asked if they could sit on the porch swing in our covered verandah for a while longer after the tour was supposed to end. I had designed the wood slats, porch swing and the seating areas with the view of the old-growth trees beyond it to make you settle in and forget the time.

I smiled and said sure. I knew the effect the space I designed had. They stayed for another hour. Without me.

I wasn’t entertaining them. The room was.

And they left smiling.

That is the power of a home designed around how you want people to feel. And that is what I want to teach you to create.

Not my version of a beautiful home.

Yours.

This Method was Built in Real Homes

The Designer Dream Home Method™ was not invented for the internet.

It grew out of more than two decades of helping real people through real rooms, renovations and new builds.

People who knew what they liked but couldn’t work out how to make it happen. People who were drowning in decisions. People who had bought beautiful things but still couldn’t make the room feel right.

“We already had a style but didn’t know how to make it happen in our house.”

“You helped us refine it and guided us on what to buy. The mood boards made it easy to see how things would look and pick our favorites. Now our house is amazing... We loved working with you. And we’ve already decided, for our next house, we’re calling you again!”

Jyoti Bharadwaj

Structural renovation, kitchen and bath design

“A new build is such a long, confusing process...”

“...and it is so reassuring to have a practical, organized and yet inspiring set of ideas presented to me every time we meet! Everything you do is SO ON POINT!!!! I wouldn’t have been able to do this without your guidance, your eye and your patience.”

Caroline Walker

New-build consultation and full-service interior design

“You've always done a better job of knowing what I want than I can put into ideas to ask for it.”

“After working with you on the whole house, I trust you and know you will deliver a sanctuary for me.”

Sandi Cohan

Redecorating and final styling

“You brought a vision to life so beautifully that we didn’t even know we wanted.”

“Now when we look around our house, we just smile and feel comfortable. This space reflects us perfectly. You understand us perfectly!”

Nitin Chandra

Full-service interior design

This is the work behind this course.

Not imaginary before-and-afters. Not a formula built for a sales page.
A real process, tested in real homes, with real people and all the awkward walls,
budgets, delays, children, dogs and opinions that come with them.

One wrong sofa can cost more than this entire course

I know you have other options. So let’s talk about them, shall we?

You can hire an interior designer.

If you can have someone design and manage the room for you, there's nothing like it! At our firm, Taashki Studio, my hourly rate is $250/hr, and full-service design begins at $7,000/room, not including furniture. And I am not the most expensive Designer. Many charge $350/hr+.

But full-service design and this course are not the same. In full service, the Designer does all the work for you. Here, you do the work. But you are doing it with the process, structure and professional thinking that sit behind that design fee.

You can keep doing what you've been doing.

You could spend another year or two browsing, buying, returning and trying again.

One wrong $2,500 sofa with a 25% restocking fee costs you $625. That’s more than the entire Founding Member experience, and you still don’t have a sofa.

Return a $4,000 piece, and you're out $800-$1,000 in restocking fees, plus delivery costs, return shipping and hours of your life arranging the whole miserable thing. How much is an hour of your life worth to you?

Maybe it can't be returned at all. Then you live with it, design the room around a mistake or replace it and pay twice.

And those are only the mistakes you can put a price on. What about the evenings spent scrolling? The arguments. The decision fatigue. The room that is still unfinished two years later, even though you have already spent thousands of dollars trying to fix it?

You can do nothing...

And the room stays exactly as it is. You keep noticing everything that is wrong with it. You keep apologizing for it when people come over. You keep saying you’ll deal with it someday.

That costs you too.

You are already investing money, time and energy in this room. The question is whether that investment is moving you closer to the room you want.

Compared with a $7,000 design fee, years of expensive trial and error, or one more costly mistake, wouldn’t you rather get it right the first time?

But there is one option that stops you paying for the same room over and over again...

YES! I'M READY TO DO THIS!

Why Founding Members Get This Price

The Designer Dream Home Method™ comes from the process my team and I use with our private Taashki Studio clients.

But this is the first time I’ve taken that process out of my design studio, written it all down and opened it to anyone else.

I want a small first group because I want to see what happens when real homeowners use it inside real rooms.

I want to know where you sail through.

Where you get stuck.

Which lesson makes you suddenly say, “Oh! That’s why my room has never worked.”

And what questions you ask that I haven’t even thought of yet. I want to hear your comments. Your Aha's! Your struggles.

That’s why the first 50 members receive the complete course for $497.

When the course returns, the course-only experience will be $997. The more hands-on Studio and Atelier experiences will also become available at significantly higher prices.

But Founding Members will keep their original access, receive future core-course updates and always be the first folks who trusted me enough to step inside.

In return, I’ll ask for your honest feedback. And if this process changes the way you see your home, I hope you’ll tell me what changed and how it helped you.

This price will not be offered again.

YES! I WANT TO BE A FOUNDING MEMBER!

Ok, I know what you’re thinking:

“Yes, but Tash…”

MY 6-MONTH,  DO-THE-WORK, MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE

Yes, you read that right.
I will give you a whole 6 months (180 days) to decide if this course is right for you.

I offer such a long guarantee because I’ve used this process in real client homes for over two decades. I know my process works. If you work it.

So here's the guarantee:
Follow the lessons in order. Use the process on one room.
Complete all the exercises, required plans and design work.

If you do all of that and still cannot create a clear, complete room plan, show me your work within 180 days of purchase and I’ll refund the course fees you paid.

Why six months? Because I know that rooms take time. Life happens. Deliveries take forever. And I am not going to teach you to make thoughtful decisions, then give you fourteen days to panic your way through them.

This is a genuine I’ve-done-the-work guarantee, not a leave-the-course-unopened-for-five-months-and-blame-the-sofa guarantee. I want to work with people of integrity who are committed to themselves. Not tire-kickers, copiers, people who are here just to 'see what's inside' and then quit on themselves. I want real bona fide people who know the value of keeping their word to themselves.

Fair?

YES! I'M READY TO DO THE WORK!

It's time to decide.

COUNT ME IN! I'M READY TO START!

One last thing

I believe in creating homes that are stylish, but not too precious that they can't be lived in. And I will teach you to do the same.

I don’t believe in creating a beautiful home and then having you become its museum curator.

I want you to enjoy it.

Have people over.

Put glasses on the coffee table without worry.

Let the dog sleep on the fabulous rug.

Build the blanket forts.

Light the expensive scented candles.

Use the good towels.

Open the bottle you’ve been saving.

Your home is not the end product.

Your life is.

The home is the place we design to hold it beautifully.

Welcome home.

Now all you have to decide is whether you’re ready to stop guessing and finally begin.
